Baclofen Infusion

Baclofen (lioresal inthrathecal) is a medication used to manage symptoms and provide relief for patients suffering from spasticity due to multiple sclerosis, stroke, and other conditions. Baclofen infusion is one of the most common uses of neuromodulation infusion devices. For patients whose spasticity has a spinal cord origin, an implantable pump is used if oral baclofen is either ineffective or causes intolerable side effects. Patients whose spasticity is due to traumatic brain injury should wait at least a year before considering long-term intrathecal baclofen therapy.
